Knucklehead Red Blend

It’s good to be a Knucklehead- at least if you are an old Sierra Foothills vine. Head pruning leaves these vines twisted like old, contorted knuckles, making it easy to recognize these vineyards. Most importantly, this helps produce small clusters of intensely flavored fruit. After hand harvesting, this fruit goes through an extended fermentation that concentrates the dark berry and spice flavors which are then enhanced by barrel aging. Varietal Composition: 71% Syrah, 23% Mourvedre, 6% Grenache
